A Vivid Dream
Crash
JamesSpader.org recently saw a surreal sequence of images from James Spader's
movies created by a talented artist in France. She has agreed to share a
retrospective with us. I was drawn to the mood she creates with her blue, gray
and sepia, gauzy impressionistic visualization. I asked her to offer a brief
'director's commentary':
"My name is Christel and I am from Paris. I discovered James Spader in
'Secretary' when it was released in France in the course of June '03. Being a
secretary to lawyers, I could not miss this film. During the first few
minutes, I had very mixed feelings about it. But then, I was literally
hooked. And from then on, I tried to capture James Spader's face (and body)
in pictures and attempted at transforming the images just as if they were
screenshots of a long and vivid dream. I have really enjoyed, and still do,
working on these shots, and I do hope that you will like to look at them just
as much."
